Gloucester Passage
I'd intended that our stop at Gloucester Passage would be a relatively short one, perhaps two nights to enjoy the resorts and catch up with the rest of the fleet. However the strong winds look like they'll stay in for a little longer. So, we'll stay here rather than having to hand steer 50 mile legs through 25+ knot southerly winds over the next few days.
Early on Saturday we got a VHF message from Leon on Nirvana's Kitchen saying he'd struck a deal with a fishing trawler anchored next to him. We'd be having freshly caught prawns for lunch so long as we all brought some salad (and $12 per person) to contribute. David and Jenny hosted lunch on Kailani (a 40 foot catamaran), which ended up continuing almost till dark.

Sunday morning Celeste and I set out to walk around to Hideaway Bay, around 5km from Monte's. We followed the water's edge, which Google Maps assured us was possible. This route traversed stretches of sandy beaches, mangrove areas and a bit of rock hopping. Hideaway Bay itself proved to be a most attractive place, and was obviously in the middle of a small scale real estate development boom. We returned via the road that appeared to only service the two resorts and a few private residences.

We had a long lunch and drinks at the Gloucester Resort, where all the other crews also met up. That pretty much set us up to have a minimal amount for dinner and an opportunity to simply enjoy the view from the boat.
